About the insignias from Al "Bud" Howard:
First is the one I have from 50 - 52. On it are the metal designators for sports and number of additional years lettered (bars). I lost one of the bars from football as I lettered three years in football as well as in baseball. The star on top of the baseball one indicates that I was captain, or co-captain, of the team.
Second is what was in place before the "Block H" that everyone is familiar with when you earned a letter in high school. The 1953 one is the latest I received but does not have my sports designations on it as I preferred the older one.
Third is the HHS insignia (cloth like the high school letters) that a lot of us had on jackets, etc. to show the high school affiliation.
Some additional information - I have some orders in Cyrillic from the Russian authority to travel to Berlin for an athletic event. We went there for football and basketball. Because HHS was the largest school, not saying much, we had two football teams when I was a sophomore (1950), a standard eleven man team and a six man team. The second string eleven man team backfield, center and two ends played on the six man team. I was a lineman (guard) on the eleven man team but because of my arm I was made the six man quarterback. We played home and away with Berlin, Wiesbaden and Bremen (I think). I know we played six games. Did not win a game all year and in fact lost to Wiesbaden 52 - 0 in our worst defeat. Talk about learning humility at an early age.
I also have a baseball from one of our championship teams signed by the team. I have kept it as well as I could but age does strange things to items - including humans.  I will try to take pictures of it and see if I can get all aspects so people can see who signed it.
I have some training certificates from the AYA (American Youth Association) around here somewhere as well as awards from when I weight lifted for a German weightlifting team (Allianz Insurance). That team is still active in the German state and national competitions. They are based out of Vahingen Stadium (outside Stuttgart).

Oh well, enough of my blathering on - will try to get the other stuff captured in case you might be able to use it.

Regards,
Al
